Here’s my inspiration behind this piece

“This piece was sponsored by a patron and supporter of my work, where they graciously offered a very generous donation for me to paint this. They came up with the theme and concept, and I took their idea and blended it with my own imagination and put it into a painting.

They had the idea of me doing a series of smaller elemental nature pieces, so this one is for the element of air, or sky.

For a big portion of 2022, I found myself taking a long break from painting and producing new works. A big reason for this, is that my other work (as a professional intuitive reader) got very busy, and before I knew it, I was having trouble balancing my workload with clients with carving out the time to go deep into my artistic process.

So I kind of let painting go, temporarily, to focus on my intuitive session work, and to be really present with everything that was coming up as that part of my life was growing.

But eventually, I began to feel creatively starved…

I absolutely love working with clients, and helping people navigate the nuances and complexities of their journeys, and helping them to connect to the wisdom of their souls.

But I’ve realized through this process, there is so much more to me than just being the “intuitive guy” ha

So I’ve been focusing on balancing my schedule, and carving out more time for my soul to express itself through my art again.

And this incredibly generous sponsor gave me a wonderful incentive and inspiration to come back around into creating new pieces.

And this elemental concept piece of the “sky” feels very fitting for me, because the influence of the majestic New Mexican skyscapes have had a profound impression upon me, and my creative process since I’ve moved here.

I’ve spent many sacred moments out by the gorge where I live, staring at the sky and watching the miracle of its breathing movements dance and silently sing its symphony of color across the heavens.

So, it feels good to paint this piece, in honor of the sky spirits, for all of the vastness and openness that they offer, which inspires the opening of the imaginative and intuitive dimensions of our being.”
